I love criminals. Or maybe I should say, I love to talk to criminals.
A couple of years ago I was talking to a client who was describing the efforts of the police officers who arrested him to extract a confession and he made the following statement:
"I ain't stupid, you know. I ain't falling for this good cop, good cop crap."
I was reminded of that statement while talking to a client earlier this week who told me he had been interrogated for awhile by just one police officer after his arrest.
"It's like they think you're stupid, or something," he complained. "I ain't falling for this good cop, bad cop routine."
So if I understand this correctly, the first client was interviewed by two officers who had adopted a kill them with love interrogation technique, and the second was grilled by Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde.
Hmmm. I see.
